David Bowie has another Brit Award to his credit. The rocker got the nod for British Male Solo Artist. He didn't attend the ceremony, but was still prepared to accept an award. Model Kate Moss appeared on his behalf, saying Bowie asked her "to say this."
Bowie also expressed his gratitude, saying it was "a great way to end the day," and ended with an appeal to Scotland to remain a part of the United Kingdom.
Bowie's win -- and his no-show -- came as no surprise to presenter Noel Gallagher. In reading the winner's name he said it was "predictably David Bowie." He then scolded the excited audience members hoping the rock legend would make an appearance, saying "David Bowie is too cool for that."
Bowie was also up for British Album of the Year for The Next Day, his first studio album in ten years. But that prize went to the Arctic Monkeys' AM.
Arctic Monkeys were the big winner at the event, taking the British Group award along with the Album honor. Daft Punk, Bruno Mars, and Lorde earned awards as well. The Brit Awards 2014 were presented in a ceremony in London on Wednesday.
