He may be far away from home on tour in the U.K., but Bruce Springsteen isn't far from the news of the day.

During his concert in Limerick, Ireland Wednesday, the New Jersey rocker dedicated a song to slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin whose killer, George Zimmerman, was acquitted last weekend of murder and manslaughter charges. Springsteen played his protest song "American Skin (41 Shots)," which he wrote in response to the 1999 shooting of Amadou Diallo by four New York City police officers.  Diallo, like Martin, was unarmed at the time of his death.

Zimmerman's acquittal in the Martin case has sparked numerous protests around the country.  Music legend Stevie Wonder even announced his boycott of Florida and other states that uphold the controversial "Stand Your Ground" law, which permits the use of deadly force in self-defense.
