HENDRIX, THE WHO: Contemporary Artists Covering Them at Monterey

The promoters of the 50th anniversary Monterey International Pop Festival have announced that many artists playing this year's event will cover a song by an artist who performed back in 1967.

Jack Johnson will play a Steve Miller Band song, Leon Bridges will cover Otis Redding, The Head and The Heart will tackle a song from The Mamas and the Papas, Gary Clark Junior will do a Jimi Hendrix classic, Jim James will perform a song by The Who, and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will do a track from Big Brother and the Holding Company.

The festival is set for the weekend of June 16th at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California.
