YES: Gift of Golf

Last month, Rick Wakeman was able to carve out a little time for a round of golf, but he wishes he hadn’t.

He says, “I lost 15 balls and scored not one point. I couldn’t hit a ball straight or even sideways for that matter. It was truly embarrassing. I have decided to give it one more go and if the same happens again, there will be a lot of golf clubs appearing on eBay in August.”

Well, he played again this past Tuesday, and he reports that there was a little improvement. "Golf not great, but not a total disaster. I used woods off the tee, wedges to chip, long irons on the fairway and the fret saw on the putter."

Wakeman is now off to Poland for the start of a six-city tour with Yes featuring Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman next Thursday, July 13th.

And speaking of Jon Anderson, he's compiling stories from Yes fans about the first time you saw the band in concert. He says, "The idea is to create a 'scrap book' of all the different stories so that other people who go to my website can read everyone's memory. I think it will be fun... I remember April 1963 when I went with my brother Tony (on his motorbike) to Southport in the U.K. to see The Beatles. They had just released 'Love Me Do' and the buzz about them was amazing. Such a great moment in my life."

Anderson has also posted a new song on Facebook. Titled "The Gift," he says it's the "opening song for a project called Nathaniel," which he hopes will be made into a film one day.
