DAVE EDMUNDS: From Small Things (Retirement One Day Comes)

Dave Edmunds has reportedly hung up his six string.

This news comes from Brian Setzer who, on Friday, posted on Facebook: "My good friend and guitar legend Dave Edmunds is retiring after tomorrow night’s show.

"Dave produced the early Stray Cats albums that spawned 'Runaway Boys,' 'Stray Cat Strut,' 'Rock This Town,' '(Sexy) & 17' and 'I Won’t Stand in Your Way.'

"He flew in to Finland to play his final two shows with me. I wish him all the love in the world in his retirement!"

The 73-year-old Edmunds not only had a solid solo career with such songs as "I Hear You Knockin’," "I Knew the Bride," "Girl’s Talk," "Queen of Hearts," "Almost Saturday Night" and his cover of Bruce Springsteen's "From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come)," but he was also a member of Rockpile and Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band. And, wearing his producer's hat, he was behind the glass for albums by not only the Stray Cats, but also Foghat, The Flamin’ Groovies, k.d. lang, The Everly Brothers, Status Quoand the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
