Sammy Hagar's "Beach Party" Cancelled

The plug has been pulled onSammy Hagar's second High Tide Beach Party & Car Showin Huntington Beach, California after he failed to secure permits for it.

According to a statement on the festival's website, "Due to being denied the necessary permit submitted on December 26th, 2018 from California State Parks, the High Tide Beach Party & Car Show scheduled for September 28th and 29th, has been canceled. Unfortunately there is no possibility to relocate the event. All ticket holders will automatically receive a refund through official ticketing outlets, Front Gate Tickets and Group On."

In an interview withThe Orange County Register, State Parks superintendent Kevin Pearsall says the production company failed to pay needed fees and failed to produce contracts for sanitation services or safety documentation. He said, "We decided, at this point, with literally nothing in place, the best thing to do was not to approve the permit."

Hagar issued a statement saying, "I was surprised and very disappointed to learn of the cancellation. More than anything, I'm just sorry to inconvenience the fans."

On Saturday, Hagar issued an apology and announced a free show on October 8th in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
