Bob Seger will release his first new studio album in eight years on October 14th.
Ride Out includes a cover of John Hiatt's "Detroit Made" -- which was released last week -- as well as his own "All of the Roads" and a cover of the Billy Bragg and Wilco song "California Stars" which uses lyrics from Woody Guthrie. All three songs were played by Seger during his spring 2013 tour.
Seger says in a statement, "I feel really good about this record. This album touches on how I think a lot of us feel about finding our place in a more complicated world -- from how we appreciate things as simple and pure as love, to navigating through the corruption and violence that permeates the news. It sums up a lot of feelings I have about a variety of subjects."
Seger's previous studio album was 2006's Face the Promise.
