PINK FLOYD: Shine On You Crazy Crustacean

Pink Floyd has a new and unusual honor -- a species of shrimp has been named after the band.

Sammy De Grave, head of research at Oxford University's Museum of Natural History and a fan of the band, came up with the name synalpheus pinkfloydi because the shrimp uses its large pink claw to create a noise so loud it can kill small fish.

A few years ago, De Grave named a different species of shrimp after Mick Jagger: elephantis jaggerai.
