GRATEFUL DEAD: Just in Case You Need One More Album

Just when you thought you had every previously unreleased Grateful Dead recording comes a handful more.

Long Strange Trip, the soundtrack to the upcoming documentary of the same name, will be released the day the film hits theaters -- May 26th.

Available in numerous configurations, including a limited-edition six-disc set, the album spans the band's career. Archivist David Lemieux says, "All in all, this is unlike any other Grateful Dead release we've ever produced -- just as the film is unlike any other Grateful Dead audiovisual document ever made. Then again, it's simply unlike any other music documentary ever made, which is appropriate considering that there's no band like the Grateful Dead."

Among the unreleased performances are "Dark Star" from February 14th, 1970 at the Fillmore East in New York and a cover of Traffic's "Dear Mr. Fantasy" into The Beatles' "Hey Jude" from July 2nd, 1989 at Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Following the film's theatrical run, it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 2nd.
