The story of The Kinks could be turned into a movie.
The Daily Mail reports that it will be based on frontman Ray Davies's musical about the group, Sunny Afternoon, which ran on London's West End from 2014 to '16. A touring version is now wending its way through the UK.
But there's no new word on comedian Bobcat Goldthwait working on a screenplay based on The Kinks' 1975 album Schoolboys in Disgrace. The last we heard was in 2011 when Ray Davies, who'd signed on as executive producer, confirmed that Jack White was in talks to record music for it.
