BOSTON: Welcomed the Boos

Boston had themselves an interesting Saturday night while performing in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Guitarist Gary Pihl says, "It’s not often that you hope the audience will show their displeasure at a concert but [Saturday] night was an exception. I was proud to be a member of the band when Tom Scholz spoke truth to power by announcing that although we had planned to do our normal two plus hours performance, the electricity would be shut off if we ventured past 90 minutes. The promoter insisted that we stop at 9:30 (at a rock show on a Saturday night!).

"We stopped at 9:30 and the audience cheered and begged for more but we couldn’t go back on without electricity. I only hope the crowd let the promoter know they felt cheated and maybe the policy will be changed."

No word if the reason for the curfew had to do with the fact that Saturday was Earth Day.

Next up for Boston is Rogers, Arkansas tonight (Tuesday).
