BOB SEGER: Hitting the Stage in Detroit

We now know why Bob Seger posted a photo of himself onstage at the suburban Detroit amphitheater once known as Pine Knob on his website Monday.

It's now called the DTE Energy Music Theater, and Seger will return there on September 9th for what is being billed as "One Night Only." The last time he headlined there was June 21st, 1996. In all, he has played the historic hometown venue more than two dozen times.

Yesterday (Wednesday, May 10th) would have been song-and-dance man Fred Astaire's 118th birthday.

To mark the occasion, Seger posted a video of the legendary actor dancing, dubbing his 1967 song, "Heavy Music" in place of whatever music Astaire was actually dancing to.
