Photos of Jerry Garcia taken during a more innocent time -- a few years before he became a hippie who played music that some say you have to be stoned to enjoy -- have surfaced.
Captured in 1959 and '60, the images show Garcia at a high school prom and messing around with his family and friends.
The photos were posted last weekend on the I Love The Grateful Dead Facebook page with the caption: “A friend whose father was close childhood friends with Jerry had these personal pics. They’ve never been shared publicly to my knowledge. But I received a copy and a ‘feel free to share.’ Enjoy!”
