John Lennon's customized 1964 Rolls-Royce Phantom V -- the one that he added a psychedelic paint job to in 1967 -- is back in England for the first time since 1970.
Having changed hands a few times since he donated it to the Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design for an exhibition in the early '70s -- including a display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame -- the car can be seen later this month in London at The Great Eight Phantoms exhibition.
North American Rolls spokesperson Gerry Spahn says, "There are few Rolls-Royces that are more iconic than this one... It’s not what you think, or what I think. It’s what John Lennon wanted. This is what he wanted. And this is the beauty of Rolls-Royce.”
It will be on display at auctioneer Bonham's London showroom from July 29th to August 2nd.
