8-Year-Old Buys Best Friend New Wheelchair

Kamden Houshan and Paul Burnett, who will be starting 3rd grade this fall, have been friends since kindergarten. They have fun together, as most eight-year-olds do, but their relationship is a bit different because Paul goes out of his way to help Kamden out at times because Kamden doesn’t have the use of his legs and gets around using a wheelchair.

Last year, Kamden test drove a new wheelchair that was lighter than his old wheelchair – and was shocked by how much easier it was to move around.

Unfortunately, insurance could not cover the cost of another wheelchair for a few years, so it looked like Kamden and his family was stuck with the old, heavy wheelchair.

That’s when Paul took action, setting up a GoFundMe page for his buddy and raising money for the new wheelchair.

In just a few weeks, the charity campaign raised more than $6,000, which was actually $2,000 more than the original goal.

Thanks to Paul’s efforts, Kamden will be able to move around faster and with less effort than ever when the school year starts. (Good News Network)
