Today (Tuesday, August 1st) would have been Jerry Garcia's 75th birthday.
Forming the Grateful Dead in 1965, Garcia also played in numerous other bands and combos, including his own solo band as well as New Riders of the Purple Sage.
Married three times and the father to three daughters, the 53-year old Garcia died of a heart attack while in rehab on August 9th, 1995, which brought to an end the Grateful Dead.
