The Steve Miller reissue campaign officially gets under way on September 15th with the release of Ultimate Hits.
Compiled and produced by Miller, Ultimate Hits includes several unreleased tracks and will be available in multiple formats, including vinyl (on October 27th).
Bonus tracks include live versions of "Space Cowboy" and "Living in the U.S.A.," a studio cut of "Seasons" and the demo for "Take the Money and Run."
Miller says, "Selecting material...and revisiting the creation of these recordings, I'm reminded of how I learned to make multi-track recordings from [my godfather] Les Paul and play lead guitar from T-Bone Walker. I've been blessed to work with so many wonderful musicians and engineers and friends over the years."
Future reissue releases in the program will draw on Miller's entire archive of music, photos, memorabilia, artwork, handwritten notes and journals.
Having signed a new deal with Universal, he will also release new material through the label.
Miller's Greatest Hits 1974–78 has sold 14 million copies in the U.S. and is number-37 on the Recording Industry Association of America list of the best selling albums.
