STEPHEN STILLS: Still Sweet on Judy "Blue Eyes" Collins

Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks should speak to Stephen Stills and Judy Collins about being able to work together after breaking up as a romantic couple.

Stephen and Judy dated in the late '60s; 50 years later, they are back together for an album and tour.

She tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "We maintained a friendship, which I think is very rare. We’ve always been friends, hung out with each other’s spouses, and we’ve talked and made a lot of lists together of songs we would do if we ever worked together... When we first started out, we should have skipped the romance and gone straight to this, but then he wouldn’t have written ‘Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.’

"It was a difficult relationship and I don’t think it had a chance at that time — we both had to get off and do our own thing. If you’re married to someone in the same field and you’re both hungry and ambitious and bossy, it’s difficult to manage that in the same room. I don’t think it was meant that we had a continual romance, but it was always a very intense musical friendship and relationship."

Judy and Stephen are on the road this summer backed by a trio in advance of their first album together. Everybody Knows will be out on September 22nd.

The two are in Alexandria, Virginia on Friday and Saturday.
