GREGG ALLMAN: Tribute Events Planned

The legacy of Gregg Allman will be celebrated next month with three events tied to the September 8th release of his final studio album, Southern Blood.

At the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on September 7th, his son Devon Allman, manager Michael Lehman, Southern Blood producer Don Was and, from the Gregg Allman Band, guitarist and musical director Scott Sharrardwill take part in a discussion.

On September 9th, there will be a celebration at The Big House, the Allman Brothers Band museum in Macon, Georgia, where Gregg is buried. Devon, Michael and Scott will be joined by Allman’s closest friend, Chank Middleton.

That same day, Mayor Robert Reichert of Macon will declare Gregg's birthday, December 8th, "Gregg Allman Day." He will posthumously receive the key to the city.

On September 15th, Devon and Michael will joined Buddy Miller, Joan Osborne and other musicians at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville during The Americana Music Festival & Conference.  

More events are being planned, including concerts and a traveling exhibit.
