SOLAR ECLIPSE: What to Play When the Sun Goes Away

On Monday, many Americans will see a total solar eclipse -- the first one visible from the U.S. mainland since 1979.

The show begins in Madras, Oregon at 9:05 a.m. PT and will traverse the nation until 4:10 pm ET in Columbia, South Carolina. If you're one of the lucky people in the 12 states in the “path of totality,” we have 25 songs to make the experience even better.

  • Bruce Springsteen – “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” “Blinded by the Light”
  • Crosby Stills and Nash – “Dark Star”
  • Grateful Dead - "Dark Star," "Here Comes the Sunshine"
  • Crowded House – “Distant Sun”
  • Eddie Vedder – “Hard Sun”
