Thursday Thunderstorms...
As weak frontal boundary heads our way today, showers and storms are a safe bet, especially this afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures generally in the 80s today, though 90° is possible in places.
After a break in widespread showers and storms on Friday, unfortunately another system has plans on heading our way early next week (see below). Storms are likely this weekend followed rain, wind, and thunder next week pending the path of Harvey.
TROPICS:
Tropical Storm Harvey continues to gain strength as it moves toward the Texas coastline. The storm is expected to mature into a hurricane before making landfall Friday night into Saturday morning. Forecast models continue to suggest incredible amounts of rain for south Texas as Harvey remains in the area for a day or two. From there the storm system is expected to gradually move northeast producing an impact on our weather next week. Pending the exact path of Harvey (or what's leftover of the storm) will determine how much rain we receive. Continue to check back for additional updates.
Be sure to bookmark our HURRICANE CENTER page and stay ahead of the tropics all season long.
