DENNIS DeYOUNG: Comments on Las Vegas Massacre

Dennis DeYoung and Ann Wilson are the latest rock legends to comment on the Las Vegas massacre.

Opening with the comment, "This will not 'stay in Vegas,'" the original Styx frontman laments on Facebook: "Tragedy...check. Insanity...check. Opportunity? For the shooter...check. But how about us?" Pointing to the Ariana Grande concert, the Bataclan in Paris and the Pulse in Orlando, Dennis says, "These kinds of events have a common denominator: 'bad brains.' Whether these brains arrive there via learning, indoctrination, fear of threats real or imagined, or chemical changes, whether self-induced or nature's shenanigans, the wiring in these human control centers goes on the fritz. Sometimes like a thunder bolt."

The voice of Heart's "Magic Man," "Barracuda" and "Alone," Ann Wilson says, "The Force is truly making itself felt the last while: the storms, the mayhem, the shock of death. I want to send you some energy and hope for the future." Offering a positive thought at a dark moment, she adds, "Every day we keep on living, breath upon breath. We keep on going. We try to keep ourselves centered so we can help each other. We don’t give in to hysteria or depression. We just keep breathing, every day and every night."
