LED ZEPPELIN: Bonzo in Bronze

Bonham statue rendering

The late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham will be immortalized, seated behind his kit, in a bronze statue in his hometown of Redditch, England.

His younger sister, Deborah Bonham, who spearheaded the campaign, tells the BBC that she is "absolutely thrilled."

It will be six-feet high and 16-feet wide and will weigh more than five thousand pounds. If all goes according to plan, the statue will be unveiled in time for the 70th anniversary of his birth on May 31st. The majority of the funds for the statue came from a private donor.

Bonham died on September 25th, 1980 at the age of 32.
