ZZ TOP: Plug Pulled on Their Tour

ZZ Top have "temporarily suspended" the remainder of their fall tour.

The band's spokesman issued a statement saying, "ZZ’s cornerstone bass guitarist, Mr. Dusty Hill, is addressing a tummy ailment and is following a directive to lay low for the next few weeks. Whew!"

They had dates scheduled through November 14th in New Orleans, plus a one-off in Oklahoma on December 29th.

This is the fourth ZZ tour in the last 11 years to be cut short due to Hill. Last year, he fell backstage in Lubbock, Texas and dislocated his shoulder, forcing the band to cancel that and other shows on their spring tour.

In 2007, the band scrapped a European tour so Hill could have a benign growth in his inner ear treated. In 2014, he underwent kidney stone surgery and then injured his hip falling on the tour bus.

ZZ Top plans to be back on the road next year and again in 2019 for their 50th anniversary. The affected 2017 dates will be rescheduled.
