For years, the neighbors of 95-year-old World War II veteran Harvey Djerf have known that Harvey enjoys taking two walks each and every day.
But recently, the neighbors noticed that Harvey wasn’t giving himself enough rest breaks along his path. While the walks were certainly keeping him young and healthy, the neighbors didn’t want him to overexert himself out there.
So, one family left a chair on their front lawn so Harvey could take a break. And then, another family did the same. And then, another.
There are now 12 chairs along Harvey’s walking path, which he uses when he needs to. Harvey appreciates the help and attention. And, the neighbors consider it an honor when this beloved war hero chooses to sit in their chair to catch his breath. (ABC News)
