Special Needs 'Cops For A Day'

A police department in South Dakota made a dream come true for three boys with special needs.

13-year-old Zane, 11-year-old Owen and seven-year-old Elliot dream of being police officers. So, in this season of giving, a photographer named Carrie Lewis recruited the Rapid City Police Department to give the boys a photo shoot they'll always remember. The officers closed off a section of road and let the boys check out their squad cars and try on their jackets. They got to pose for photos with the officers.

Lewis says, "I created this shoot so special needs kids would have a chance to live their dream. When I started this campaign, parents told me many photographers won’t photograph special needs kids. [But] they are just like other kids with dreams."

The police department shared the photos of the boys on their Facebook page. (People)
