This Is What Karma Can Do For You

good deed wins

Sometimes good things happen to good people. A Georgia man feels he was recently rewarded for being a good neighbor.

Edward Wheeler, a 63-year-old retired veteran of the U.S. Army, says his neighbor had to make an appearance in court and had no way to get there. So he offered to give him a ride and wait for him until he was done so that he could give him a ride back home too.

Knowing that he might have to wait for a long time, Edward stopped into a convenience store and picked up lottery ticket to scratch off while he sat around waiting.

As he waited in his car for his neighbor to come out of the courthouse, Edward won the ticket's grand prize of $10,000. He said he had to check it a few times to make sure it was really a winner and when he realized it was, he got so excited he started driving around in circles.

Edward said, "This is what happens when you do good things." He plans to use the money to buy a new motor for his boat. (GaLottery.com)
