FOGERTY & ZZ: Interaction Is a Possibility

Fogerty & ZZ

Unlike so many package tours where the artist who goes on first has left the venue before the second act takes the stage, John Fogerty and ZZ Top hope to do a few songs together on their Blues & Bayous tour.

Fogerty tells Rolling Stone, "Something like that needs a tad bit of, if not rehearsal, at least a tad bit of discussion to make it seem worthwhile to the audience, anyway. Selfishly, this is just a bucket list thing for me. I'm really looking forward to jamming and becoming intimately aware of their music and all the little things that happen during their set."

Asked what songs he'd like to sit in on, he says, "I'm sure I would want to do all the big ones... 'La Grange' and 'Sharp Dressed Man' and 'Tush' and 'Sleeping Bag' and 'I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.'"

And if Billy Gibbons sits in with John, he says he'd like to do "Fortunate Son" or "Down on the Corner."

The tour starts May 25th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Fogerty will reissue his 1985 album Centerfield on vinyl on April 6th. It will include the original nine tracks with a download card to access the two bonus tracks from the 2010 release.
