For years, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland had a table where you could write in who you felt deserved to be inducted. And, for years, the overwhelming choice was The Moody Blues, who were finally inducted Saturday.
Nowadays, visitors can enter Voice Your Choice voting booths and, using their wristbands, vote for who they feel should be enshrined. The leader board is just outside where the Hall of Fame plaques and exhibits honoring this year's inductees are, and leading the way are Def Leppard. Here's the Top 10
- Def Leppard
- Stevie Nicks
- Iron Maiden
- Pat Benatar
- Styx
- Radiohead
- Meat Loaf
- Rage Against the Machine
- Blink-182
- Janet Jackson
To be eligible for induction, artists have to have released their debut recording at least 25 years prior. While this list is not next year's ballot, three of the artists -- Janet Jackson, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine -- have previously been nominated. Steve Nicks is already in as a member of Fleetwood Mac.
This year's ballot will be released in the fall, with the 2019 inductees announced in December. Next year's ceremony will be held in New York City.
Highlights of this year's ceremony can be seen on HBO on May 5th.
