PINK FLOYD: Mason Digs Deep Into Catalog

Floyd

Nick Mason revived some Pink Floyd songs that hadn't been played by any of the band's members in almost 50 years Sunday night in London.

Mason's new band, Saucerful of Secrets, did a 16-song set that featured two of Floyd's classic singles with Syd Barrett -- "See Emily Play" and "Arnold Layne" -- and tracks from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful of Secrets, Ummagumma, Obscured by Clouds and Meddle.

The band's lineup includes Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, Lee Harris of The Blockheads, Guy Pratt -- who took over on bass from Roger Waters in Floyd -- and Dom Beken, a collaborator of late Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright. Saucerful of Secrets have two more shows in London this week, but Mason hasn't revealed if he's going to take this band anywhere else.
