After four years of serving the small town of Cormorant, Minnesota, Duke the Pyrenean Mountain Dog is resigning as mayor.
Mayor Duke has served four, one-year terms as ceremonial mayor of the western Minnesota town, but his owner, Dave Rick, say it's time for the 13-year-old pooch to retire. His primary duties during his time in office have been to lead parades and appear on billboards. The town is planning a special farewell parade in August to say goodbye to him. A local school teacher is also writing Duke's biography, which will chronicle his early days as a puppy all the way to the top office in town. (WLS-TV)
