Foreigner: Four More for the Core Four

Saturday in Sturgis, South Dakota, the current Foreigner lineup was joined onstage by former members Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood, Dennis Elliot, Ian McDonald and Rick Wills. Now comes word that the current and original band will do four more shows together in the fall.

Double Vision: Then and Now will take place on:

  • November 9th - Los Angeles - Microsoft Theater
  • November 10th - Rancho Mirage, CA (Palm Springs) - Agua Caliente Casino
  • November 30th - Atlantic City, NJ - Hard Rock Casino
  • December 1st - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena

Foreigner mainstay Mick Jones says, "I think it’s good for us to be able to experience this again. It’s been great for me to honor the songs of the band, honor everybody’s contributions over the years. There’s no better vehicle than just getting together and jamming it out. Everybody gets on very well ... probably a lot better than we did... So there’s sort of closure on it, but it’s a happy event."

Gramm adds, "I still get a lot of memories from those days, we had a few ups and downs obviously. But we ended up doing what we wanted to do and this really is a celebration of that... Knowing that the shows are for a special reason and it’s our party, it’s our celebration."

Looking ahead, Jones says, "We’re just contemplating work on a couple of songs that we wrote that are not quite complete or that we wrote 20 years ago and see what we can do with them. Hopefully towards the holiday season, first early part of next year, we can make that happen."

Foreigner resumes its tour August 11th in Wisconsin.
