VOLKSWAGEN: The Beetle is Squashed

After seven decades as one of the most-recognizable cars on the road, the Volkswagen Beetle is being laid to rest.

The German car-maker confirmed Thursday that it will end production of the car in 2019. Despite its popularity for generations, sales of the car have plunged and only 15,000 models in the U.S. in 2017. The company said in a statement, "The loss of the Beetle after three generations, over nearly seven decades, will evoke a host of emotions from the Beetle’s many devoted fans." (CNBC)
