There is no question that Van Morrison is the most prolific 73-year-old recording artist out there. He'll release his 40th studio album and seventh in the last seven years in December.
The Prophet Speaks is a mixture of six originals and eight covers made famous by the likes of John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke and Solomon Burke.
Van says, “It was important for me to get back to recording new music as well as doing some of the blues material that has inspired me from the beginning. Writing songs and making music is what I do, and working with great musicians makes it all the more enjoyable.”
The Prophet Speaks will be out on December 7th.
Van will also be back on the road with two dates in Oakland, California in November followed by a five-show residency at the The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in January and a Los Angeles date in February.
