ALLMAN BROTHERS: A Beacon Reunion

A mini Allman Brothers Band reunion took place Saturday at one of the venues where they made their mark -- New York's Beacon Theater.

Warren Haynes joined The Tedeschi Trucks Band -- featuring his old Allmans guitar partner Derek Trucks -- for the half of their second set as they wrapped up their own run at the Beacon. Trucks and Haynes did Robert Johnson’s “Preachin’ Blues” as a duo and then were joined by the band for Elmore James’ “Done Somebody Wrong” and Dr. John’s “I Walk on Guilded Splinters."

The set closed with a version of the Allmans' instrumental “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.” Watch Haynes and Trucks lead the group through that classic.
