Gov't Mule frontman and ex-Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes will hold his 30th annual Christmas Jam on December 7th and 8th at U.S. Cellular Center in his native Ashville. North Carolina.
Among the highlights will be a performance of Dave Grohl's 22-minute instrumental "Play" by Grohl and "Friends" on the 8th and performances by different iterations of Gov't Mule both days -- doing Pink Floyd covers as Dark Side of the Mule on Day One and playing their own songs on Day Two.
The rest of the lineup includes Grace Potter, Jamey Johnson, Marco Benevento and Mike Gordon of Phish on the 7th and Eric Church, Jim Jamesof My Morning Jacket and Joe Bonamassa on the 8th, with more artists to be added.
Christmas Jam is a fundraiser for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. For the 20th year in a row, proceeds will go toward constructing energy-efficient new houses, as well as purchasing and developing land for entire Habitat subdivisions. To date, the Jam has raised over $2.3-million for the charity.
