Tom Petty's hometown of Gainesville, Florida will honor one of its most famous sons this Saturday, which would have been his 68th birthday.
Northeast Park, located in the neighborhood where he grew up, will be renamed Tom Petty Park.
The dedication ceremony will have numerous bands doing Petty songs, as well as their own material.
Petty died on October 2nd of last year from cardiac arrest brought on by an accidental mixture of the medication he was taking for numerous ailments.
