Devon Allman and Duane Betts, sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers Band, have formed The Allman Betts Band and will tour next year. Their bassist is Berry Oakley Junior, son of the original Allman Brothers bassist. Betts is on the road as a guest with The Devon Allman Project, which will give way to the new band.

Bob Weir and Wolf Brothers ended their inaugural tour in Chicago this weekend. One highlight of the show was a performance of The Grateful Dead’s “Dark Star” that incorporated The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows.”

Guitarist Glenn Schwartz, Joe Walsh's predecessor in The James Gang, died Friday at age 77. He later joined Pacific Gas and Electric.

On Wednesday, a panel of journalists, broadcasters and artists will discuss how The Beatles WhIte Album has “influenced musicians since and asks whether in a world of snackable content, playlists and short attention spans, an artist would ever dare release such a diverse body of work now.” You can watch it live on The Beatles’ YouTube channel. The 50th anniversary edition of the album will be released on Friday.

Paul Stanley will get off the KISS Kruise tomorrow (Monday) in Miami. Monday night he will put in an appearance at the Puma store there to plug his line of sneakers.

Add the Scorpions to the list of artists with their own line of whiskey. Others include Bob DylanMetallica and Neil Giraldo.

The next artist honored at the annual Music of… tribute at New York's Carnegie Hall will be Van Morrison on March 21st. The Music of... events raise money for children's music charities. The initial lineup will be revealed soon.

Mark Knopfler has released another track from his new album, Down the Road Whenever. "Back on the Dance Floor" is at all streaming services now. Down the Road Whenever is out on November 16th.

The Bag o’ Nails, the London club where The Beatles and other stars hung out in the '60s, is being transformed into a private members club.
