The Grammys- Not Much for Classic Rockers

Sunday's telecast of the Grammy Awards  does not have a lot on tap for classic rock fans. Once again, veteran rockers got few nominations and booked no performances.

Here are the highlights:

  • Onetime  Talking Heads frontman David Byrne 's American Utopia  is up for Best Alternative Music Album .
  • Sting and Shaggy 's collaboration,  44/876, is up for Best Reggae Album .
  • Boz Scaggs is nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album for Out of the Blues .
  • The Eric Clapton documentary, Life in 12 Bars , is up for Best Music Film .

A couple of box sets -- Guns n' Roses ' Appetite for Destruction (Locked n' Loaded Box) and The Grateful Dead 's Pacific Northwest '73-74': The Complete Recordings --  are up for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package .

The Grammy Awards air live on CBS at 8 pm ET Sunday.
