The Lou Reed archive, spanning from his first band in 1958 to his final performances in 2013, opens this weekend in New York.
The collection is housed at the New York Public Library for the Performing at Arts at Lincoln Center, and to mark the occasion, the library has created a limited-edition Lou Reed library card that features Mick Rock's photo from theTransformer album.
The music part of the collection is something that Reed fans will want to seek out, as there are hundreds of hours of audio and video recordings from live shows, performances and appearances, spanning from Velvet Underground shows in the 1960s shows to Reed's final world tour in 2012.
