The lineup for Woodstock 50-- August 16th, 17th and 18th in Watkins Glen, New York -- includes a number of artists who performed at the original festival in August 1969.
Those returning are:
- Santana (Carlos Santana is the only original member left)

- John Sebastian
- Melanie
- Dead & Company(Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann & Mickey Hart)
- Hot Tuna (Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Casady with Jefferson Airplane)
- David Crosby (CSNY)
- Country Joe McDonald
- Canned Heat(Larry Taylor&Adolfo de la Parra are the only surviving members)
John Fogerty was at Tuesday night's press conference at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, participating in a question-and-answer session with Woodstock founder and producer Michael Lang, and rapper Common.
"I think the idea of celebrating a certain anniversary -- 50 years. I don't expect it to be the same. I think the mood in the county is different -- similar in many respects, but different. I'm very glad that I'm able to be here 50 years later celebrating it. But for me it resonates because it was such a watershed moment in the time of my generation.
After the Q&A, Fogerty did a four-song set of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" on acoustic guitar, before plugging in for "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Bad Moon Rising" and "Fortunate Son."
Although there are numerous festivals throughout the year, Michael Lang thinks Woodstock 50 will stand out:
"Aside from having a lineup, which I don't think anybody else comes close to frankly, we're about something. You know we're really about the issues that effect all of our lives and that's really the motivation for this -- is to really engage people, re-engage people in those issues and making a difference in the world. I think that, you know there's some great festivals out there, very entertaining. But I think that they miss an opportunity to really sort of become part of that social change and that energy and we need it desperately."
Like the original festival, this 50th anniversary celebration will be filmed and recorded, and will also be live streamed.
Other confirmed acts include Robert Plant, Miley Cyrus,The Killers,Imagine Dragons,The Lumineers,The Raconteurs,Jay-Z,Chance the Rapper,The Black Keys,Greta Van Fleet,Cage the Elephant,Brandi Carlile, and Gary Clark, Jr.
