Nuggets: Joe Cocker Album, Styx Fail, Zepp sneakers and more

Joe CockerLive, recorded on October 5th, 1989 in Lowell, Massachusetts, has just been released on 180-gram double vinyl. Cocker died from lung cancer in 2014. He was 70.

Asked by Pollstar why Motley Crue covered Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” forThe Dirt soundtrack,Nikki Sixx says, “God bless the band for trying something really weird. Can you understand that we know what we’re doing? That’s our whole career. People doubting us and then proving them wrong.”

Former Styx singer and keyboardist Dennis DeYoung had a concert oops last week when a billboard touting his May 4th show in his hometown of Chicago had the date listed as May 5th.

Styx also had a concert hiccup as they took to social media last week to acknowledge a glitch that mistakenly listed their show December 13th in Durant, Oklahoma as being sold out. Styx is on tourin the Midwest, but opening act Larry the Cable Guy has dropped off except for a show Wednesday in his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska.
