CREEDENCE: No More Rollin' Down the Road

Creedence Clearwater Revisited, the Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band with two of its founding members -- bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford-- are calling it a day.

Cook tells Billboardthat after 25 years, this will be their last year on the road. He says, "Both of us are approaching 74 this month and just thought, 'Y'know, we've been there, done that, seen it, we know how it feels, we know how it tastes.' We're gonna miss it, but there's still time to do other things in life. We all have bigger families, grandkids. We're still playing great, but we are pretty tired of the road. We're not retiring, but the idea right now is to put the band to bed and see what else comes along and how we feel about it moving forward."

Cook and Clifford formed the band in 1995 with Elliot Easton of The Cars on guitar. They released a live album,Recollection, in 1998.

John Fogerty, the singer, guitarist and songwriter in Creedence Clearwater Revival, brought legal action against his former bandmates over the use of the name Creedence Clearwater, but the courts rejected his claim.

The Revisited will be on the road off and on starting on April 27th in Mexico with dates through September 28th in Yakima, Washington.
