MOODY BLUES: A Year Later

One year ago this past Sunday, April 14th,The Moody Blues were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Having recently spent time with founding member and drummerGraeme Edge, we asked him to reflect on that night at the Public Hall in Cleveland.

Graeme Edge looks back on The Moody Blues' induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

"Surprisingly for me I was quite honored. I thought I was gonna be sort of blasè about it. But I think that's because we were passed over for so long I think I convinced myself that I didn't care. But in actual fact when you're honored like that by your peers, it does mean something to you, yeah."

But of course, it wasn't all smooth sailing.

Graeme Edge on The Moody Blues' behind-the-scene dealings with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

"I loved everything about it except maybe the administration of the Hall of Fame. But, actually, they only do one a year so and maybe they should be forgiven for being a bit disorganized because quite often the first gig of a tour is pretty chaotic as well."

Edge is now retired from The Moody Blues, and its other two members --Justin Hayward and John Lodge-- are on tour this year with their solo bands.

The Moody Blues will release a limited-edition, individually numbered three-disc colored vinyl set of their 2007 collection Live at the BBC: 1967–1970o on April 26th. It contains 41 live performances from several BBC radio and television appearances.
