Don Brewer calls it "a great, great music night," when his band Grand Funk can share the stage with fellow Michigan legend Bob Seger. Brewer is a former member of the Silver Bullet Band, which features keyboardist Craig Frost, who was in Grand Funk from 1972 to '77.
Grand Funk is opening three shows for Seger this spring, with the second one tomorrow night (Thursday) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Their shared roots reach back long before either act was famous.

Grand Funk bass player Mel Schacher is back in the fold this year. He took time off last year and in 2017 -- but it wasn't because of his own health issues.
