A GoFundMec campaign to raise money for markers to commemorate the 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash has exceeded its goal of $10,000. The plan is to unveil the markers in October near the crash site in Gillsburg, Mississippi and at the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, where the survivors were treated. The crash killed three band members, their road manager and the two pilots.
