New Pensacola Bay Bridge opening delayed until August 4th (this Sunday)

(WEAR-TV) —The traffic shift to the newPensacola Bay Bridgewill be postponed for another week, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

FDOT made the announcement on Friday stating drivers heading from Pensacola to Gulf Breeze will shift to the new bridge on Sunday, August 4.

Drivers coming from Gulf Breeze to Pensacola will shift over onto the new bridge starting Thursday, August 8.

FDOT says starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 4 to 6 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 17th Avenue in Pensacola will be closed to through traffic between Gregory Street and the Pensacola Graffiti Bridge (CSX Railroad overpass).
