LYNYRD SKYNYRD: Heart Surgery and Postponed Dates

Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington underwent a procedure on July 31st to repair a leaky heart valve, which caused fatigue and other symptoms.

To allow him proper time to recover, Skynyrd have rescheduled their show for this Friday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to October 18th, and Saturday's show in Wheatland, California to October 19th.

Tickets purchased for these shows will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

Singer Johnny Van Zant, commenting on this latest health crisis for the last surviving member of the original lineup, says, "We all appreciate the well wishes for Gary and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. But he can't wait to come back and perform at 100 percent for the fans. We will see you all soon!"

Skynyrd's next show is scheduled for August 23rd in Irvine, California.

Both Mick Jagger and Eddie Money underwent the same procedure in the spring.
