GARY GLITTER: Joker Controversy

Convicted sex offender Gary Glitter is back in the news.

His 1972 hit "Rock and Roll Part 2" is used in the new movie Joker. Glitter (real namePaul Gadd), who is serving a 16-year sentence for sex with underage girls, earns royalties as co-writer of the song. The more movie tickets sold, the more money goes to the convicted pedophile.

Some fans protested on social media after hearing the song in a scene where Joaquin Phoenix dances down a long flight of stairs as he transforms into the Joker. (New York Post)

The song already earns Glitter an estimated $250,000 a year.
