MICHAEL McDONALD: Rock Hall Reaction

Michael McDonald has commented on The Doobie Brothers' nomination for election to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He writes on Facebook, "To all the band members and crew who’ve each played their strategic and important role as a Doobie Brother (or Sister) over the years, I’d like to express my love and gratitude. Especially to the original guys --Tom Johnston,Pat Simmons,John Hartman,Tyran Porter and Michael Hossack-- whose talent, vision and iconic music started the ball rolling! I'd like to congratulate the entire Doobie organization on this nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."

McDonald, who was included among the members who were nominated, was in the band from 1975 to 1982, and again in 1987, 1992, and 1995 and '96. He will be part of the band's 50th anniversary tour next year.
